Our HMS November Collaborative Wide meeting and poster session was a great success. The meeting included our UTI Guideline addressing asymptomatic bacteriuria and preferred antibiotic choices for treatment of uncomplicated and complicated lower urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis. Anurag Malani, MD, FIDSA, FSHEA, Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs for St. Joseph Mercy Health System, gave a presentation entitled, "Successful Interventions for Asymptomatic Bacteriuria and Urinary Tract Infections". Pneumonia data was reviewed regarding Antibiotic Duration, Pathogens and Testing, Empiric CAP Regimens, HCAP De-escalation and Outcomes. PICC data was reviewed, as was our new Midline Pilot data and the steps we're taking to launch the new Midline initiative.
Our poster session allowed us to view the quality improvement work our participating hospitals are doing around our initiatives.
