HMS PICC expert Dr. Vineet Chopra, MD, MSc, lead the work of developing the Michigan Risk Score (MRS) for PICC thrombosis. Data from the HMS registry was used to develop this score. This registry contains data collected from all of its participating hospitals within the HMS Collaborative. The Michigan Risk Score was predictive of the risk of PICC thrombosis and can be useful in clinical practice. The editorial entitle, The Michigan Risk Score to predict peripherally inserted central catheter-associated thrombosis, was publish in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
