The Mi-COVID19 Joint Collaboration was highlighted in November in the CDC report titled, “Antibiotic Use in the United States, 2021 Update: Progress and Opportunities”. The highlight focused on empiric antibiotic administration between the first two waves of COVID-19. The Mi-COVID-19 collaboration demonstrated how an existing CQI infrastructure can be rapidly leveraged as a larger team to focus antibiotic stewardship efforts on improving antibiotic use during the COVID-19 pandemic.
