HMS Participating Hospital Publishes Manuscript on Their PICC Work Using HMS Data

Lakshmi Swaminathan, MD, with Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn, a HMS participating hospital, recently published a manuscript featuring their PICC work using HMS data. Improving PICC use and outcomes in hospitalised patients: an interrupted time series study using MAGIC criteria, was published online first with BMJ Quality & Safety. The purpose of the study was to test whether implementation of the Michigan Appropriateness Guide for Intravenous Catheters (MAGIC) can improve PICC use and patient outcomes.
