On June 14th, the Mi-COVID19 Initiative partnered with the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) and the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) to host a virtual COVID-19 Summit. During the summit key findings gleaned from the data registry were shared. Key findings:
- Empiric antibiotic administration in non-ICU patients decreased from 53% in the first wave (3/2020-6/2020) to 33% by the second wave (11/2020-1/2021)
- Patient follow-up visits scheduled with a PCP at discharge increased from 9% in the first wave to 25% by the second wave.
- Anticoagulant use within the first three days of inpatient hospitalization increased from 82% in the first wave to 93% by the second wave.
- Mortality improved since the first wave.
