HMS Coordinating Center Physicians Have Editorial in BMJ Quality & Safety

Paul Grant, MD, and Scott Flanders, MD, have an editorial entitled "Venous thromboembolism prophylaxis: a path toward more appropriate use" in BMJ Quality & Safety.   They cite the work of HMS in ascertaining that there is a low symptomatic rate of VTEs in hospitalized medical patients, and they highlight the need to avoid VTE prophylaxis in low-risk medical patients.   The editorial is located here.
